Fireworks {4th of July}

We had a very busy and fun 4th. After lunch with Bunny, Big Daddy, and the girls, we went over to Pap's house for swimming, a cookout, and hanging out. My mom, stepdad, Dad, and stepmom came, too. I didn't get any pictures though. Then around 8 we headed out to watch fireworks. Grammy, Grandma, me, Chris, Wyatt, and Kenley all went. Grammy and Grandma found us a great spot that wasn't crowded and had a perfect view. Most of these pictures were either uncentered, blurry, or just not that great but I'm using them anyways.

I realize there's Goldfish covering Kenley's blurry face but this was the best picture out of several so here it is. Kenley and Grandma.

See, Chris WAS there. I took this picture for proof. He was playing with all his photography set up. I don't know anything about it, but he loves it.



The kids loved the fireworks. Kenley was a little nervous, but never cried or anything. This is her watching with a strong grip on Mommy. Love my sweet girl and love that she feels safe with Mommy. This girl doesn't sit still often so I was selfishly loving her nervousness. ;)

A very long and exciting day with no naps ended up like this. Wyatt literally fell asleep in about 2 minutes.

After a bottle, sister was out, too.



We had a wonderful day celebrating AMERICA.

Special Delivery {4th of July}

Chris's stepdad, Mike, is an Army pilot and on the 4th of July he had a training flight that allowed him to come see us. Wyatt was sooooo excited to see Big Daddy and his airplane. He was in little boy paradise as soon as we got to the airport and saw all the planes. We even got to get in Big Daddy's plane. How cool is that?! We took so many pictures and were so excited that we kept joking that we all had never seen a plane before. But, seriously, we had a plane that had come to see us and we were going to play in it and get lots of pictures.

There's Big Daddy getting about to come see us all. This was his first time to meet Kenely and Tripp.

After all the picture taking we had a 4th of July lunch at Uncle Julio's. It was fun hanging out and getting to have everyone together. We wish Bunny, Big Daddy, Aunt Kenzie, and Aunt Maddie lived closer. Maybe one day.

Whole Foods

We've been going to Whole Foods Craft Wednesdays. This week Aunt Mackenzie came with us. Whole Foods does community events where money gets donated to a cause and this past week they had Equest there at the same time we were there. So we got to see horses and miniature horses. Mackenzie LOVES animals, especially horses, and so does Wyatt. It was perfect. They set up some horse toys, brushes, and jockey dolls, and Wyatt played with them.

He would not touch the big horses, but he did pet the mini ones and even let them lick him. I was busy helping him so I didn't get a picture of them.

Sealife Aquarium

Chris's mom and sisters drove in from North Carolina for a few weeks and we've been having lots of fun. Friday we all (minus Chris and Gene since they were working) went to the Sealife Aquarium in Grapevine. We had fun. Wyatt and Kenley liked looking at all the fish and Wyatt has been talking about it ever since. The pictures aren't that good because it was pretty dark in there, but here's what I've got.

When we were inside we ran into family friend, Lenora, and her granddaughter, Caroline. 

I love this picture. And just so everyone knows. Wyatt has cute plaid shorts (several) and lots of nicer collared shirts but he refuses to wear them. He insists on wearing athletic shorts. He also likes to dress himself at times so if his shorts are backwards, or he has slippers on, or doesn't match just know that we are smiling that he wants to be independent. He will understand AWKWARD one day. :)

Love My Parents

I'm sure I have mentioned that my parents are divorced, but that we all do holidays, birthdays, and just hanging out all together. Well, all my parents went out on a kid-free night and sent me these pictures. It makes me smile to see them all together. I count my blessings for this.

Homework

Since Wyatt has younger Aunts and an Uncle he is always hearing about homework and he thinks homework is cool. He's always telling me that he needs to do his homework. So today I pulled out a "homework" book to see if he could do it and sure enough he did awesome. My favorite thing about teaching was watching kids feel so proud of themselves and I am loving watching Wyatt light up when he does things. So special.

Summer Reading

The city library did a Summer reading program for little kids and Wyatt was sooo excited to do it. We got a sheet with ducks on it and everytime we read he got to color a duck. We've been getting new library books every week or so and Wyatt loves reading before nap and bedtime. He colored in each duck very carefully. Check out how well he's getting at staying in the lines. When all the ducks were colored he proudly took his paper to the library to get his prize.

He got a toy panda bear, beach ball, Chick Fil A ice cream coupon, and a circus ticket (I think we just might go this year) and he was so excited. He called Daddy and Grammy in the car to tell them all about it.
