Classroom Helper
Wyatt got to go to work with Mommy today. I needed to work on my new classroom. We packed up tons of toys, a few books, crayons, coloring books, snacks, and his puppy blankie. He had lots of fun playing in the huge room. So much fun that he even took a nap while we were there. I will post pictures of the room when I'm all finished.

Independent Artwork
Steps to creating your very own work of art:
1. When Mommy is in the shower, open the bathroom counter. You have to be really smart so that you can undo the baby lock. It helps if you find one that your Mommy didn't install too well.
2. Pull all kinds of fun things out.
3. Dump the baby powder bottle upside down and shake and squeeze until you have a little pile. Smile at Mommy so she knows you are okay and that you know what you are doing.
4. Rub your hands (and maybe Mommy's nightgown) all through the pile so that you have baby powder everywhere. This is a really fun step!
5. Try to spray it with hairspray for extra fun.
6. Let Mommy take pictures and then go take a nap so Mommy can clean it up. :)

Bunny, Aunt Maddie, and Aunt Kenzie's Visit
Our internet has been down so it's taken me forever to update. We've been having tons of fun though. Bunny (Chris' mom), Aunt Maddie and Aunt Kenzie (Chris' sisters) came to visit for a week. It was so much fun and we wish they lived closer. We hope that next time Big Daddy (Chris' step-dad) can come to. He's an Army pilot and deployed in the Middle East right now. Wyatt got to talk to him on the phone and webcam. We are proud of you Big Daddy! The week went by so fast and it was like having a bunch of Mommys in one house, which was awesome. Here are some pictures we snapped throughout the week.

Wyatt and Bunny. Wyatt loves his Bunny (and light switches).

It was soooo hot that we only went to the pool 2 days. I got this huge tub of water balloons and we spent a lot of time playing with water balloons. We had Operation: Fill water balloons going on. Maddie was the stretcher and tie-er (however you would spell that) and Kenzie was the filler. Wyatt was the tester.

While we (yup, me too) played outside, Chris and Sue worked hard on fixing out countertop. The huge slab of granite wasn't installed right by the last owners and. It is now braced, the seam is even, and it looks awesome. Do not look at all the junk on the counters. We had to empty out the cabinet first. Sue and Chris made a good team! And I'm glad I got to play outside with the kids! :)

Yay! Wyatt loved it!

One night we went to dinner with my family. It was nice to have everyone together since we don't get to do that often. The week flew by, but we made lots of memories. As always, we are looking foward to the next visit (with Big Daddy, too). I think it's our turn to travel. Thank you Bunny, Aunt Maddie, Aunt Kenzie, and Bear for traveling 12 hours to come see us. We love you!
This is what Maddie looked like the ENTIRE time she was here. Wyatt did not get out of her sight!
I can't wait until Wyatt understands more because Kenzie LOVES animals and so does Wyatt. I know she will teach him all about them. She can tell you a lot about them!
Even Bear got to come visit. He's such a good dog. He did not like the heat though. He's been around lots of babies in his life so he is a pro at just chillin'.

We took Wyatt to get a haircut. This was his 4th haircut. Here's his haircut history:
#1. At a cute kid's place. He wanted to stand in the car instead of sit still. It cost $30!
#2. At a cheapo adult place. He sat on my lap. Played with a comb and it looked great.
#3. I tried to do it myself. Looks easy.... it's not. My mom fixed it. It was free though!
#4. About 10 seconds after this picture, Wyatt went nuts. Screaming, crying... the whole bit. It was worse that any shot he's ever gotten. I think there's too much distraction. Who wants to sit and get a haircut when there are toys and stuff?!
So, next time it'll be back to the cheapo place that's boring.
After the haircut, we went shopping in Watters Creek. That evening we went to The Purple Cow for ice cream and to watch the water show. Cooper and Chancy joined us. We wanted it to be dark so we went to the 9:00 show and the little kids wore jammies.

Wyatt's BFF
Wyatt and Aidan go to the same daycare. When they were babies they were in different rooms, but in the morning they were together until there was enough kids to make 2 classes. They liked playing together so much that the teachers would let one of them go to the other room so they could play. When they moved up to the toddler room they were in the same class. Every day the teachers would tell me how much they love to play together. Every morning, Aidan waits for Wyatt to get there and laughs so hard when he sees his buddy. It is absolutely adorable. Aidan's mom is a teacher, too, so it works out perfect for playing in the summer. Today we went to their neighborhood pool and they had a blast. Aidan can even say Wyatt's name! Here they are sharing the snack Aidan brought for Wyatt. Too cute!

My Boy: the good, the bad, and the always so-stinkin' cute...
Morgan and Ashley lived across the street from my sister and I when we were growing up. Our parents still live across the street from each other and we are all very close. Morgan and her husband, Marshall came in from Austin this week and I was so excited to let Kaleton and Wyatt play together. Kaleton had fun playing with all of Wyatt's toys and Wyatt was so sweet and kept bringing him toys to play with.

Chancy had a great idea of running the Fireworks 5K in McKinney on Sunday. I agreed and was glad because I'd get an extra workout in. We had fun, but I think from now on when we go running we are going to stop taking shortcuts. Our neighborhood has underpasses so that you don't have to cross the street. Normally, when we go jogging we just go across the street. Well, that's not how the race was planned and going down (yes, even down is hard with a big stroller pulling on you) and up the hills was tough. Here is Wyatt fueling up for the race. By the way, we have a double stroller because my old one broke and this is what was on Craigslist at the time and I needed one quickly. :)
Today, was a rainy day. So we had a playdate at Emily's house. Wyatt had a lot of fun playing with Emily and Cooper. It cracks me up to watch the difference between boys and girls. The girls would sit down and play with the Barbie's or push the strollers around so sweet. Then... there was demolition boy. Vrrrooooommmmm, running the stroller into poor Kate's oven, emptying the shopping cart of fake food all over the floor, and flipping all over the fun gym mats that Kate got out especially for my little monkey. He goes non-stop, but it's so fun to watch. We were glad we got to play with friends on a rainy day.

Playing dress up. Wyatt plays dress up at school and he loves beads. :) I guess it beats the heels and feather boa, right?!

Look how sweet the girls are reading books together in Emily's room. Where's Wyatt? He's chasing the dog (that he was told not to play with)... :)
Okay, so now the B-A-D (remember, the title of this blog). Wyatt will officially be a year and a half tomorrow. I want this blog to be something for him to look back at one day and I definitely wouldn't want him to think that we never had a crazy moment. So..... I'll start off with my mistakes as a Mommy first. 1. We didn't come home for a nap and I knew he doesn't sleep anywhere besides the car, his bed, or school. 2. I decided to take him out in public even though he hadn't taken a nap. That's it, that's ALL I did. ;) My mom had to go to Sam's so Wyatt and I decided to tag along. I was going to get a big box of diapers while she went to the eye place for her glasses. First, Wyatt threw a huge fit about sitting in the cart, which is not like him. He is my grocery shopping buddy. He was screaming so loud that I took him out and bent down to talk to him. He stopped the screaming and I decided that for the sanity of the other shoppers and our sake of not getting thrown out he would walk, but he had to hold my hand. We went to check on my mom and it was taking the girl forever to get her glasses done. By this time, Wyatt is a happy camper and everyone is saying how cute he is (I agree, but had they not heard him from across the store 5 minutes ago). Wyatt and I went to get a drink. We got 2 bottles of water for me and him and a coke icee for my mom. He and I sat so sweet together at a little table drinking our waters. UNTIL.... Wyatt decided he wanted the coke. I talked to him and told him that coke was for Grammy's and not little kids. He was not happy!!! He started screaming bloody murder, throwing himself on the floor, twisting his arm when I would try to tell him to stand up and walk with me. Oh my, it was a M-E-S-S. So, I calmly grab all the drinks (yes, all three) and my screaming, flailing child, and start walking to back to the eye place. Wyatt decides to throw himself back (a new trick of his, be careful if you are holding him) and when he does sit up he is smacking me in the face (totally unacceptable and not like him and definitely not how I've raised my sweet little boy the whole 18 months of raising that I've done). I was mortified and yes, people were starring at me like I'm a horrible Mommy. Ugh, awful! So, we get to my mom and tell her we will be outside and we do not want the diapers. She meets us and Wyatt has calmed down a bit. I decide to let him walk and here we go again... flailing child in the parking lot. So, of course, I pick him up and get him in the car seat. Screaming for 3 mintures and he is sound asleep. So, the teacher in me did some research tonight. I can handle a 12 year old, but I was at a loss for this whole tantrum throwing today! ;) Apparently a moment like this is "normal." But remember, I started this part of the blog out with MY mistakes as a Mommy, so I've done some reflecting and we will be working on this in the future. I'm ready to take on the tantrums. Hopefully, it will be a little while. But if you happen to see my sweet boy throwing a tantrum in the store please don't stare... we are working on it and I'm not a bad Mommy. I promise.

Busy, Busy, Busy
This post is for Bunny (Chris's mom, Sue). Chris was talking to her tonight and I asked if she had been checking the blog. She said she had and that we weren't posting enough. So, I guess I better get on the ball. Hopefully, Bunny can come visit Texas soon.

Thursday night I made play dough and we had family play dough night. It sure is fun getting to be a kid again! Wyatt picked purple/grape to play with.

Daddy picked blue.

We were sitting in the backyard Friday evening and we heard the ice cream man. This was the first time we've heard him, and Chris was super excited so we all went out front to see if he'd come by. Chris and Wyatt walked up and down the street waiting.

Yup, he came down our street...

Yum!

Grammy and Grampy (my mom and step-dad) got new patio furniture (because we took their "old" set). The new furniture has a fire pit and I have been soooo excited to have a smores campfire night. My mom got all the stuff and Saturday was family campfire night at Grammy and Grampy's. While we got the fire going, Wyatt played with his mud pie maker water table with Grammy. Bones got a drink, too.
Wyatt loved the campfire!

Daddy and Wyatt sharing a marshmallow.
Last Thursday, my friend, Nancy, and I took the kids to the beach club after boot camp. It is so much fun. It's a beach-pool so there is sand all around it and then you walk into the pool just like a shore without the jellyfish and seaweed. :) Wyatt loves it for 2 reasons: 1. He can walk by himself in the water because it's shallow enough at first. 2. There is a big splash pad with a turtle slide next to the beach-pool. Will brought lunch to share with Wyatt. He also brought Wyatt his first Slurpee... oh my (notice that he's not letting go of that cup of sugar).

faithful character with gumball eyes. Chris noted that ice cream man prices have gone up.

Sunday, Aunt Jessie (Chris's sister) and her fiance, Gene, came to visit. We all went swimming and had dinner at Pap and Lori's house. Wyatt had a blast in the water, of course. We swam all afternoon. He didn't even get out of the water for a snack. Lori brought it poolside for him. :) I forgot to take pictures Sunday. :( I guess Aunt Jessie needs to come back soon.

Happy Anniversary!
3 years ago at about this time I was walking down the aisle to my high school sweetheart. I count my blessings everyday that Chris is in my life. He is a wonderful husband, daddy, and friend. Together we have been through some of the toughest times and some of the most amazing ones. I wouldn't want to do it with anyone else.
Chris asked me what I wanted to do for our anniversary and it was hard to think of what I wanted to do. Mostly because what we do everyday is what I want to do and I love it more than anything. I love playing with Chris and Wyatt, hanging out, and just spending time together. So we have decided to get our patio done (it's really small right now) so that we can spend more time hanging out in the back yard. We are also going to plan a fun trip for the Fall (Chris is much more fun to hang out with in the Fall because he hates the heat). ;)
He also asked me if I wanted to go out tonight and surprisingly (I usually want to go anywhere just to be out and he loves to stay home) I said that I'd rather stay home. So here we are, Wyatt is taking a late nap and we are sitting at the coffee table eating Pei Wei that Chris picked up with a surprise chocolate chip cookie. :) Happy anniversary... happy life. I love it!
