Busy, Busy, Busy

This post is for Bunny (Chris's mom, Sue). Chris was talking to her tonight and I asked if she had been checking the blog. She said she had and that we weren't posting enough. So, I guess I better get on the ball. Hopefully, Bunny can come visit Texas soon.

Last Thursday, my friend, Nancy, and I took the kids to the beach club after boot camp. It is so much fun. It's a beach-pool so there is sand all around it and then you walk into the pool just like a shore without the jellyfish and seaweed. :) Wyatt loves it for 2 reasons: 1. He can walk by himself in the water because it's shallow enough at first. 2. There is a big splash pad with a turtle slide next to the beach-pool. Will brought lunch to share with Wyatt. He also brought Wyatt his first Slurpee... oh my (notice that he's not letting go of that cup of sugar).

Thursday night I made play dough and we had family play dough night. It sure is fun getting to be a kid again! Wyatt picked purple/grape to play with.

Daddy picked blue.

We were sitting in the backyard Friday evening and we heard the ice cream man. This was the first time we've heard him, and Chris was super excited so we all went out front to see if he'd come by. Chris and Wyatt walked up and down the street waiting.

Yup, he came down our street...

Daddy got some strawberry thing and Wyatt got the old
faithful character with gumball eyes. Chris noted that ice cream man prices have gone up.

Yum!

Grammy and Grampy (my mom and step-dad) got new patio furniture (because we took their "old" set). The new furniture has a fire pit and I have been soooo excited to have a smores campfire night. My mom got all the stuff and Saturday was family campfire night at Grammy and Grampy's. While we got the fire going, Wyatt played with his mud pie maker water table with Grammy. Bones got a drink, too.

Papa and Wyatt waiting for smores.

Wyatt loved the campfire!

Daddy and Wyatt sharing a marshmallow.

Sunday, Aunt Jessie (Chris's sister) and her fiance, Gene, came to visit. We all went swimming and had dinner at Pap and Lori's house. Wyatt had a blast in the water, of course. We swam all afternoon. He didn't even get out of the water for a snack. Lori brought it poolside for him. :) I forgot to take pictures Sunday. :( I guess Aunt Jessie needs to come back soon.

Happy Anniversary!

3 years ago at about this time I was walking down the aisle to my high school sweetheart. I count my blessings everyday that Chris is in my life. He is a wonderful husband, daddy, and friend. Together we have been through some of the toughest times and some of the most amazing ones. I wouldn't want to do it with anyone else.

Chris asked me what I wanted to do for our anniversary and it was hard to think of what I wanted to do. Mostly because what we do everyday is what I want to do and I love it more than anything. I love playing with Chris and Wyatt, hanging out, and just spending time together. So we have decided to get our patio done (it's really small right now) so that we can spend more time hanging out in the back yard. We are also going to plan a fun trip for the Fall (Chris is much more fun to hang out with in the Fall because he hates the heat). ;)

He also asked me if I wanted to go out tonight and surprisingly (I usually want to go anywhere just to be out and he loves to stay home) I said that I'd rather stay home. So here we are, Wyatt is taking a late nap and we are sitting at the coffee table eating Pei Wei that Chris picked up with a surprise chocolate chip cookie. :) Happy anniversary... happy life. I love it!

Gymnastics

Today was Wyatt's 1st day of gymnastics. It was very exciting! And very much a workout for Mommy! I think he was the youngest kiddo, but I really wanted to start in the Summer. He didn't quite understand that we have to wait our turn and do the stations in order, but I helped him and I think he will get it figured out after a few lessons. I thought that maybe it was too early to start, but I'm not sure how he will learn to wait and go in order if he's not in the class so we will see how it goes. All the pictures are from the end of class, because I was way too busy being Coach Mommy to snap any pictures. :) The kids started out jumping on the trampolines. Wyatt was scared and wanted to cling to me. That is not like him at all. Once he got comfortable he ran across it and would run until he fell. He doesn't get the jumping part yet. Oh and he also wanted to run across to other kid's trampolines, which made it extra fun chasing him. Then we moved on to stretching and stations. Some of the things Wyatt did very well were: going down the slide, running the "races" (all the kids would run to Coach Chris and he had a blast running back and forth), climbing around in the pit, hanging on the bar, and waving and saying "hi" to all his new friends. We are looking forward the next class (in 2 weeks because I am working next week).
Coach Chris gave them stamps on their hands and feet and a paper that says what they did well at with a sticker (Wyatt got his sticker for hanging on the bars).
Waiting like a big boy for his sticker.

This is the bar Wyatt did a great job hanging from. I tried to get him to sit next to it for the picture. He was ready to play some more.

Office Buddy

Chris helped me get my computer and printer set up in the office so that I could start working on school stuff for next year. We aren't upstairs very often so this was Wyatt's first time to really play in his new playroom. I think he likes it. But, he likes playing in the office with me much more. :)

High Flyin' Father's Day...

We had so much fun celebrating Daddy this weekend. Saturday we went to the Denton Air Show. Wyatt has been really into airplanes lately. If he hears one, he will stop and look for it and point up in the sky when he finds it. He loved getting to look at, touch, and even sit in the planes. We got plenty of pictures to share with him one day. Afterwards, we went to lunch in Denton by the UNT campus.

A Special Daddy and Fun Day

Earlier this week, Wyatt and I made a craft for Daddy. I snuck into his office late last night because Wyatt wanted Daddy to feel special when he got to work. Here's the craft. Wyatt stuck all the sticky stars on by himself!

We had another busy, fun day. We went to boot camp, then to the splash park with boot camp friends, then to lunch with Chancy and Cooper. This morning when I said it was time to go, Wyatt ran around the corner. I followed him to see what he wanted. It was his phone (an old phone my mom gave him). When we got in the car, he dialed it and put it up to his ear. So funny! I have no idea where he learned to talk and drive ;) but we will definitely have to break that habit before he's 16.

Not a very good picture, but it was the best I could get. They were sharing their snacks. So sweet!

Yay for Summer...

We love summers! I love getting to spend the whole day with Mr. Wyatt. We have been busy. We get to see all our morning baby boot camp friends in the summer and it's also really nice for Mommy's workouts to be done early. Yesterday we went to a splash area and out to lunch with Chancy and Cooper. Here are some pictures. Wyatt LOVES water and being outside.

Bye Bye Binkie Update: Our baby is a big boy and we are so proud of him. We have not had a single problem getting rid of the binkie. He used to ask for it when he woke up, but now I've noticed he points to other things and asks for them. The first morning it was a cookie monster stuffed animal. He also likes to take his school nap blanket to nap with him. It's funny, because he doesn't want it at night.

Bye Bye Binkie Day 1

I've been told that you should get rid of binkies before 18 months. Wyatt turned 17 months June 9th and my summer officially started. So, what better time to start the "Bye Bye Binkie" excitement. All in all I am very proud of Wyatt. Our game plan was pretty simple: hide all the binkies we can find and do NOT say the "B" word! The toughest times for Wyatt were in the car. Other than that, he did pretty good. However, I now know the power of the binkie. Apparently it helped him sit still for at least a little while because without it there is no stopping him. He went 90 miles per hour all night until we put him to bed.
Here's a picture in the car. :( Very sad! I can't tell you how many times I want to get the back-up binkie out of my purse and abort this mission completely.

Luckily, we had things to buid at Grammy's to keep us busy. Wyatt was a big helper!

Notice, that it is now dark and Wyatt is just getting to play with the new toy. Why must there be a million pieces to every toy?! He loved it and a bath was soon after.

Bring it on "Bye Bye Binkie Day 2!"
